DCCFA Scholarship
Eligibility
- Students currently enrolled at any campus in the DCCCD may apply for the DCCFA Scholarship for the spring semester.
- Applicants must have successfully completed a minimum of 12 semester hours of college-level credit in the district.
- Applicants must demonstrate full-time enrollment (12 semester hours) during the semester for which the scholarship application is submitted.
Criteria
- Applicants official transcripts must indicate a GPA of at least 3.0 in college-level course work attempted in the DCCCD.
- Applicants must demonstrate excellence in all endeavors.
- Applicants are not required to demonstrate financial need.
Requirements
- Students will obtain scholarship application forms from the colleges Financial Aid Office or from the colleges Faculty Association officers.
- Students will submit the following for consideration:
- Completed "Student Application Form DCCCD Foundation, Inc.). PLEASE WRITE "DCCFA SCHOLARSHIP" ACROSS THE TOP OF THE APPLICATION FORM.
- Two letters of recommendation from faculty familiar with the applicants achievements.
- A one-to-two page essay detailing goals for academic year.
- All submissions must be received in the colleges Financial Aid Office no later than three weeks before the end of the fall semester for the scholarship.
- Recipients of DCCFA Scholarships must use the funds for books and tuition.
- Interest generated from the DCCFA Scholarship Fund will be divided into seven equal scholarships.
- Individual scholarships will not exceed $300.00 per student per semester.
- Until such time as the DCCFA Scholarship Fund reaches a sufficient level, scholarships will be awarded for the spring semester only.
- Members of the DCCFA Scholarship Endowment Fund Selection Committee (immediate past presidents of each campus faculty association) will review the applications and award a maximum of one scholarship on each of the seven DCCCD campuses.
